The 20 or so members of the CVMRRC have a very large historically correct model of the city of Gadsden 1940s that includes hundreds of hand built structures based on photos and personal information. The layout has the Railroad bridge over the Coosa River,Model of Good Year Tire and Rubber plant that was opened in the early 1930 and is still in use today (but VERY much larger), Model of the Local steel mill that was all hand built (was shut down about a year or so ago due to debt),Down town business district and the now removed L&N rail yard. Our lines consist of the L&N,Southern Railway (3 lines counting Branch), TAG line (Gadsden to Chatt), and the NC&StL line. Our N scale layout was built to support those members that model in N scale. It is truely freelanced and does not use any design standards. We show it at most of the local shows including our own(held usually in March). Open house info:Info not set until later in year.Usually Held 1st week in December

Meetings: Every tuesday night around 6pm CST at the Center For Cultural Arts(Down town gadsden and location of the HO layout). Every 3rd Tuesday we have a business meeting.

Operates large permanent N and HO scale modular layouts. The Northeast alabama Model Railroad club has been evicted from its home at the historic Albertville alabama depot backin 1996.The layouts are in storage waiting for a place to restart the club. The Mayor forced us to remove ourselves from the depot so he could turn it into a Senior citizens center (Depot was 95% original down to the hand blown glass and infloor scales).
