North Little Rock, AR
Phone: (501) 372-8907

The club was founded in 1962, and for ten years, through the courtesy of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, made it's headquarters in the basement of the Union Depot. In 1973, it becamse necessary to vacate our space, because the building had been sold, and other uses were being planned. The layout was disassembled and stored, and later largely discarded in favor of new construction. Our present location was first occupied in December of 1974, and work on the present layout was begun the following spring. About half of the current 17 members were on the roster in 1974 and two still remain from among the founders. To find the clubshouse, turn west off the south end of Pike Ave., North Little Rock, and proceed west on River Road for about two miles. Pike Ave. is about 1/2 mile west of the traffic light at the north end of the Broadway Bridge.

Meetings: Mondays, 8-10pm, Saturdays, 4-6pm, Open to the public on the second Monday of every month. Memberships open.

CAMRC members are train hobbyists dedicated to advancement of the hobby of model railroading through designing, constructing, and demonstrating train layouts in public sites and events, building local community awareness of its railroad history, and sponsoring educational activities about the legacy of the railroads in this region. Club members are engaged with many railroads and are involved in several different scales of model railroading – including HO, O, N, and G. CAMRC Welcomes new members and “newbies” (newcomers to the hobby) are welcome at club meetings and club-sponsored activities. There is always plenty to do and learn in the world’s greatest hobby, so join the fun! Families are welcome participants, and parents are expected to accompany their children to activities, become “coaches” to them, and learn about the hobby together. CAMRCis a club of active “doers” – not passive watchers – and there is hands-on work to do for adults and kids. Actually, we believe the work is “play.”
